Volunteer Information

Many hands will be needed to orchestrate such a large event. There are several ways to help:

General event volunteers are needed to help things run smoothly onsite. We will need help with set-up, break-down, registration, poolside scoring, crowd control, photography, and score running.

Spectator Information

Classmates, teachers, mentors, advisors, parents, siblings, and friends may register as spectators for the 2023 International SeaPerch Challenge.  Spectators may choose from one of two registration options: 

  • $10 Ticket Only Option: Includes access to team village, pool competition viewing areas, and presentation rooms. (Also available for purchase onsite at the event)

JOIN RoboNation at the official 2023 International SeaPerch Challenge Team Social – an exciting evening of baseball in our Nation’s Capital!

RoboNation, in partnership with the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball Team, is excited to announce that we have been selected as the Non-Profit of the Night! On the evening of Friday, May 12, 2023, the Washington Nationals will be competing against the New York Mets in a battle royale, worthy of the International SeaPerch Challenge. 

 As members of the RoboNation community and the International SeaPerch Challenge, we welcome students, educators, chaperones, and volunteers to purchase reduced price tickets with a concession credit.

Parking at the Challenge

Parking at the University of Maryland during the 2023 International SeaPerch Challenge is free ONLY in Terrapin Trail Garage. A limited amount of paid parking may be available in metered spaces via ParkMobile pay stations. Parking in any other areas will result in large fines and/or vehicle towing at the driver’s expense. RoboNation assumes no responsibility for parking tickets and/or towing.

BUSES – Buses can park in Lot 9b, 11b, 4b, 1c, and 1d, as spaces are available, for free on Friday, May 12 – Sat May 13.

Cancellation Policy for Registration Fees


To cancel a registration for the 2023 International SeaPerch Challenge, teams must visit the SeaPerch Cancellation Policy page and complete the Cancellation Form. Cancellation requests not submitted using this form will not be accepted.
• Full teams who cancel will receive their full refund less the ROV registration fee ($250).
• Individuals who cancel will receive their refund less 10%.
• No refunds after April 17, 2023.
Refunds will be processed within 1-2 weeks after receipt of the cancellation form and will be based on
the original payment method (payments received by check/wire transfer will be processed as wire
transfer refunds; payments by credit card will be credited to the original credit card charged)
