2021 International SeaPerch Challenge Final Standings

Virtual Event | June 4 – 5, 2021

The 2021 SeaPerch Season was unlike any we’ve had before. For the first time, there were opportunities for virtual participation and engagement with other teams. This season extended from the 2020 season, allowing teams to further develop their ideas focused on Waterway Cleanup.

For the first time ever, all competing teams were required to participate in a 15-minute live, virtual interview with a panel of judges. During the interview, teams were asked two questions that were selected at random from a list provided ahead of time. One question focused on the team’s engineering design, and the other focused on the team’s approach. After these questions were answered, judges had the opportunity to ask follow-on questions.

Community & Outreach Recognition

This year we invited competing teams to participate in a special “Give Back” event focused on Community and Outreach. We didn’t provide a lot of guidance and simply asked teams to provide a short written statement with supporting photos or videos describing how they were giving back to their community. We received submissions from 18 teams and are all available on the Team section of the 2021 Challenge website. We recommend checking them out!

For all of these 18 teams, we know these projects were just a snapshot of the impact you’re making locally. We applaud your efforts and can’t wait to see what you do next.

Congratulations to all the 2021 SeaPerch teams!

A special thank you to the 2021 International SeaPerch Challenge volunteers & judges that made this event possible.
